Meet Dr. Stephanie Shimizu
Dr. Stephanie Shimizu graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Integrative Biology. She attended the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) for dental school, where she served as coordinator for the school’s student-run Community Dental Clinic to increase access to dental care in the SF Bay Area. She then went on to receive her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Southern California. During her specialty training, she worked at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she gained extensive experience in providing sensitive care to children with special health care needs and those with severe dental anxiety. She has extensive training with compassionate behavior guidance strategies, hospital dentistry, sedation dentistry and advanced pediatric dental restorative techniques. During her residency, she conducted research on the efficacy of cavity-ceasing topical treatments and has special interests in child-centered care, non-invasive dentistry, and prevention strategies. She loves pediatric dentistry and feels so lucky to be able to work with such amazing families and kids.
Dr. Shimizu currently lives in Boston with her husband, Eric. In her free time, she loves playing tennis, snowboarding, sightseeing, and spending quality time with her beloved family and friends.
